In this first complete examination of the architecture of the Bay Region School a design approach is revealed to be regional, but not of the region in which it is located, that is, the San Francisco area. It is a Mediterranean architecture, based on “the climate, the terrain, and the way of life of the people” of both regions. This fact is explained through an understanding of Critical Regionalism and the ambiguities that exist.
Σε αυτή τη πρώτη πλήρη εξέταση της αρχιτεκτονικής της Σχολής Bay Region αποκαλύπτεται ένας σχεδιασμός ο οποίος είναι τοπικός, αλλά όχι του τόπου όπου βρίσκεται, δήλαδη όχι της περιοχής του Σαν Φρανσίσκο. Είναι μία αρχιτεκτονική της Μεσογείου, βασισμένη “στο κλίμα, στον τόπο, και στον τρόπο ζωής των ανθρώπων” των δύο περιοχών. Το γεγονός αυτό εξηγείται από την κατανόηση του Κριτικού Μεσογειακισμού και των αμφησιμιών που υπάρχουν.
