Το κύριο αντικείμενο της διατριβής, “Ταυτότητα και σώμα στην τέχνη του διαδικτύου: Γεφυρώνοντας το κείμενο /λόγο, με την εικόνα/σώμα. Το σώμα ως τόπος, ως χώρος, ως νόημα και ως φορέας προσδιορισμού ταυτότητας” εντάσσεται στο πλαίσιο της θεωρητικής έρευνας μέσω ανασκόπησης βιβλιογραφίας και εξέτασης παραδειγμάτων, με σκοπό μια συνολική ανάγνωσης του φαινομένου της εξέλιξης της ταυτότητας και πως αυτή σχετίζεται με το σώμα και τις εκφάνσεις του στη διαδικτυακή ζωή, μέσα από το έργο γυναικών καλλιτέχνιδων της διαδικτυακής τέχνης. Αποτελεί μια κριτική ανάλυση της επιρροής του διαδικτύου στη γυναικεία ταυτοτική εικόνα, πρόσληψη και επικοινωνία μέσω του σώματος, έτσι όπως αυτή σχολιάζεται μέσω των έργων γυναικών καλλιτέχνιδων που χρησιμοποιούν αυτό το εργαλείο. Στη διατριβή πραγματοποιείται διεξοδικά κριτική ανάλυση της χρήσης του όρου Net.art όσο και του προσδιορισμού διαδικτυακή τέχνη.
The main subject of the thesis, "Identity and the body in internet art: Bridging text/discourse, with image/body. The body as place, as space, as meaning and as a vector of identity determination" is placed within the framework of theoretical research through a review of literature and examination of examples, with the aim of a comprehensive reading of the phenomenon of the evolution of identity and how it relates to the body and its manifestations in online life, through the work of women artists in net art and internet art in general. It is a critical analysis of the influence of the internet on women's identity image, perception and communication through the body, as commented on through the works of women artists using this tool. The thesis provides a thorough critical analysis of the use of the term Net.art as well as the definition of Internet art.
