Εισαγωγή: Η Επαυξητική και Εναλλακτική Επικοινωνία περιλαμβάνει διάφορα μέσα επικοινωνίας μέσω των οποίων επιτυγχάνεται αποτελεσματική επικοινωνία. Ένα μέσο επικοινωνίας αποτελούν τα γραφικά σύμβολα. Για την επιλογή των γραφικών συμβόλων ένας παράγοντας που λαμβάνεται υπόψη είναι η εικονικότητα τους. Διάφορες έρευνες έχουν διεξαχθεί, οι οποίες εξετάζουν την εικονικότητα των γραφικών συμβόλων αλλά υπάρχει ελλιπής βιβλιογραφία όσον αφορά τις απόψεις των ατόμων με ΔΑΦ (Διαταραχή Αυτιστικού Φάσματος).

Introduction: Augmentative and Alternative Communication involves various means of communication through which effective communication is achieved. One means of communication is graphic symbols. For the selection of graphic symbols one factor that is taken into consideration is iconicity. Various researches have been conducted which examine the iconicity of graphic symbols but there is a lack of literature regarding the views of people with ASD.
