In the beginning of the article are mentioned the principal stages, of the freedom struggles of the Greeks in Macedonia after the revolution of 1821 and until the liberation of the area, which are the following: a) the revolts of 1854 during the Crimean war, b) the revolution of 1878, and c) the Macedonian Struggle, and pointed out the basic characteristics, of the struggles of the Greeks in general during the Turkish rule. It is then inquired into, which of those characteristics still exist in the events under examination and which differentiate, and then follows a recount in general of the main revolts of the Greeks in Macedonia on the above mentioned period as well as their results. Special care is given to the examination of the Macedonian Struggle, its time limits and its various forms. (EN)
