In this paper I study identity constructions of immigrants living in Greece. More specifically, the construction of their identities is examined through the analysis of narrative extracts both from interviews of adult immigrants and essays of immigrant students attending Primary School, Middle School and High School. By investigating how immigrants position themselves in relation to the national homogenizing discourse -as well as the transnational discourse- I try to reveal the factors influencing the construction of their identities and also investigate whether the national discourse is still dominant in Greece or not.

Στην παρούσα εργασία μελετώ την κατασκευή ταυτοτήτων μεταναστών/τριών στην Ελλάδα. Πιο συγκεκριμένα, η κατασκευή των ταυτοτήτων τους εξετάζεται μέσα από την ανάλυση αφηγηματικών αποσπασμάτων που προέρχονται τόσο από συνεντεύξεις ενηλίκων μεταναστών/τριών, όσο και από εκθέσεις μεταναστών μαθητών/τριών που φοιτούν στις τάξεις του Δημοτικού, Γυμνασίου και Λυκείου. Μέσα από τις αφηγηματικές τοποθετήσεις των μεταναστών/τριών απέναντι στον εθνικό ομογενοποιητικό λόγο - αλλά και τον μετα-εθνικό αποδομητικό λόγο- φανερώνονται οι παράγοντες που επηρεάζουν την κατασκευή των ταυτοτήτων τους και κρίνεται ο βαθμός ισχύος του εθνικού λόγο στην Ελλάδα.
