Description

Η εργασία μας αφορά μια συνολική αντίληψη και αντιμετώπιση του παρόχθιου μετώπου του ποταμού Αχέροντα, από τον οικισμό Γλυκή έως τις κάτω πηγές και τα Στενά του ποταμού. Τα ιδιαίτερα χαρακτηριστικά του φυσικού περιβάλλοντος και το πολιτισμικό βάρος του Αχέροντα καθιστούν αναγκαία την πολυεπίπεδη ανάλυση της περιοχής μελέτης σε κάθε στάδιο της συνθετικής διαδικασίας. Οι παρεμβάσεις μας εξελίσσονται παράλληλα με έναν ενιαίο σχεδιασμό του παρόχθιου μετώπου, που αποσκοπεί στην εξυπηρέτηση των αυξανόμενων αναγκών των κατοίκων του οικισμού και των επισκεπτών των πηγών. Συνεπώς, εντός του οικισμού η πρότασή μας αποκτά πολεοδομικό χαρακτήρα και στοχεύει στην ανάπτυξη ενός πιο συμπαγούς οικισμού, με διακριτές υπηρεσίες και χρήσεις γης, σε άμεση σχέση με το φυσικό περιβάλλον και τον Αχέροντα. Προσεγγίζοντας τις πηγές, οι τρεις τοπιακές μας παρεμβάσεις χαρακτηρίζονται απο μια αφαίρεση και προσπάθεια ομαλής ένταξης, που αποτυπώνεται στις μορφές και την υλικότητα των δομών, καθότι γίνεται αντιληπτή η υπέρβαση του ανθρωπογενούς από το φυσικό περιβάλλον. Έχουν ως στόχο τη βελτίωση της εμπειρίας περιήγησης και παραμονής του επισκέπτη στην περιοχή, με παράλληλη σύνδεση και αξιοποίηση των ιστορικών μονοπατιών του Σουλίου. (EL)

Our diploma thesis refers to a comprehensive understanding and treatment of the riverside front of Acheron, from the rural region of Gliki to the river’s canyon and springs. The specific characteristics of Acheron’s natural environment and its cultural identity make it necessary to have a multilevel analysis of the specific area at each stage of our design process. Our interventions pass off in parallel with a unified design of the riverside front, aiming to serve the growing needs of the settlement’s residents and the visitors of the springs. Therefore, within our settlement, our proposal acquires a town-planning character and aims at the development of a more compact settlement, with distinct services and land uses, in direct connection with the natural environment and Acheron. By approaching the springs, the three local interventions are characterized by a tension for abstraction and the effort of smooth integration, which is reflected in the forms and materiality of the structures, as it is perceived the overthrow of anthropogenic from the natural environment. They aim to improve the visitor's experience, while linking and exploiting the historical paths of Souli. (EN)
