Η παγκοσμιότητα της οικονομίας σε συνδυασμό με τη δράση πολυεθνικών επιχειρήσεων επέφερε σαρωτικές αλλαγές στις συλλογικές διαπραγματεύσεις καθώς οδήγησε σε ένα νέο είδος εργασιακών σχέσεων, ήτοι τις εργασιακές σχέσεις με στοιχεία αλλοδαπότητος.
