Το παρόν ηλεκτρονικό σύγγραμμα αφορά έναν αναλυτικό οδηγό εργαστηριακών ασκήσεων Βιολογίας και απευθύνεται σε φοιτητές και σπουδαστές που θέλουν να αποκτήσουν τις βασικές εργαστηριακές γνώσεις σε θέματα Κυτταρικής Βιολογίας, Μοριακής Βιολογίας και Γενετικής. Ο οδηγός περιλαμβάνει έντεκα εργαστηριακές ασκήσεις σε θέματα και τεχνικές Κυτταρικής και Μοριακής Βιολογίας και δύο φροντιστηριακές ασκήσεις σε θέματα Γενετικής. Ειδικότερα, στις ασκήσεις παρουσιάζονται η χρήση του μικροσκοπίου και οι βασικές αρχές της μικροσκοπίας, τα χαρακτηριστικά και οι διαφορές του προκαρυωτικού και του ευκαρυωτικού ζωικού και φυτικού κυττάρου, το φαινόμενο της πλασμόλυσης, ο τρόπος διαχωρισμού των δομικών συστατικών του κυττάρου και η μορφολογία των υποκυτταρικών οργανιδίων, η βιοχημική διεργασία της φωτοσύνθεσης και η μέθοδος της χρωματογραφίας για τον διαχωρισμό των φωτοσυνθετικών χρωστικών, ο κύκλος ζωής των μικροοργανισμών και η επίδραση διαφόρων παραγόντων σ’ αυτόν, οι μηχανισμοί πυρηνικής διαίρεσης και η μορφολογία των χρωμοσωμάτων, τα φαινόμενα της κυτταρικής διαφοροποίησης και εμβρυογένεσης και τέλος, η μεθοδολογία και οι τεχνικές απομόνωσης γενετικού υλικού και ηλεκτροφόρησης για τον διαχωρισμό του DNA και των πρωτεϊνών. Στις φροντιστηριακές ασκήσεις αναλύονται τα φαινόμενα της κληρονομικότητας και οι νόμοι που τα διέπουν. Όλες οι ασκήσεις έχουν εμπλουτιστεί με πρωτότυπο ψηφιακό υλικό (εικόνες, κινούμενα σχέδια και video) προκειμένου ο οδηγός να ανταποκρίνεται στις απαιτήσεις ενός σύγχρονου διαδραστικού ηλεκτρονικού συγγράμματος. This electronic textbook is a comprehensive guide of laboratory exercises in Biology and is addressed to students who want to acquire the basic laboratory knowledge in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology and Genetics. The guide includes eleven laboratory exercises in Cell and Molecular Biology topics and techniques, and two tutorial exercises in Genetics. In particular, the exercises introduce the use of the microscope and the basic principles of microscopy, the characteristics and differences between prokaryotic and eukaryotic animal and plant cells, the phenomenon of plasmolysis, the separation of the structural components of the cell and the morphology of subcellular organelles, the biochemical process of photosynthesis and the chromatographic method for the separation of photosynthetic pigments, the life cycle of micro-organisms and the influence of various factors on it, the mechanisms of nuclear division and the morphology of chromosomes, the phenomena of cell differentiation and embryogenesis and, finally, the methodology and techniques of isolation of genetic material and electrophoresis for the separation of DNA and proteins. The tutorial exercises analyze the phenomena of heredity and the laws that govern them. All exercises have been enriched with original digital material (images, animations and videos) in order to meet the requirements of a modern interactive e-textbook. (EN)
